This is sort of the izakaya edition of my food porn posts as 3 of the following restaurants serve izakaya food. There are still several izakayas in Toronto that I need to visit, but I honestly can’t keep up anymore! Especially now that I no longer work downtown, I don’t dine out as often and … Continue reading »

Kinton, Sansotei, Santouka & Raijin
So the ramen craze hit Toronto last year, and many ramen restaurants from the west coast have joined the fierce competition, resulting in pickier and more critical diners. I’m not going to bother reviewing each of the ramen places below only because there are so many reviews Continue reading »
Food Porn [part II]
Another wordless post :) Chantecler. Diana’s Oyster Bar and Grill. Sassafraz. Czehoski. Bestellen. Shiso Tree Cafe. Blowfish. Continue reading »
Food Porn [part I]
Brassaii. Sen5es. Joey Eaton Centre. Starfish Oyster Bed & Grill. Escari Enoteca. Cowbell. Song Cook’s. Salt Wine Bar. Malena. Sushi Couture. Regrettably I’ve become extremely, extremely lazy when it comes to writing restaurant reviews, and thus the lack of them as of late. I will still be posting Continue reading »
Food in Paris [the savoury edition]
I believe I tried everything I wanted to try while I was in Paris, so no regrets on my part. I didn’t really do much research when it came to “real food” and just visited random restaurants. No Michelin-starred places, but I’m okay with that. As mentioned in my previous post, I visited more pâtisseries Continue reading »
Koyoi
To me, Koyoi is a bit of a hidden gem. Being the selfish person that I am, I didn’t really want to share this place on my blog, haha. But since I think they’re a great neighbourhood izakaya, more people should know about them. Koyoi is located near Yonge & Wellesley, but is definitely a … Continue reading »
Black Hoof
I’m positive that most are familiar with Black Hoof already, considering how much praise they’ve received since opening their doors. Unless you arrive early for the dinner service (they open at 6pm), you’re bound to wait in line as reservations are not accepted. I guess it’s surprising that Continue reading »
Lucien
The highlight of the evening was the lavender ice cream in the dessert, lol! It was so incredibly decadent and I wanted to eat a whole tub of it, right then and there. I’m not sure if it’s a good thing that what stood out the most was their ice cream, but it was definitely memorable. Continue reading »
Nota Bene
Note Bene belongs to the category of restaurants that I’ve walked by too many times before, but was never enticed to dine in. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I’ve heard negative reviews of the place or anything. As a matter of fact, it’s been quite the opposite. Note Bene was named Continue reading »
Fune Japanese Restaurant
After spending the afternoon going on Tasty Tour’s Chocolate Tour, my friends and I headed to Fune for some conveyor-belt sushi (hohoho). I’ve passed by Fune a couple of times while visiting Yuzu Sushi & Sake Bar. They’re both located in the Entertainment district on Adelaide, so it’s Continue reading »
